Sometimes I pretend to be normal...

.
Today I'm finally going to do that shopping I have been talking about for ages. I'm also going to wear my hooded scarf for the first time, and see if people will laugh at me or smile at me. Here in Stockholm everybody just dresses in black which I think is super boring. It looks like they are going to a funeral or something.

It's funny how people really look at me when I come there all pink. I especially remember one time at the train. A woman was staring at me the whole trip, just smiling the whole time. A little weird, but at least I made her happy I guess. Children also love to look at me, maybe they are jealous about my clothes ha ha.

Well, I'll tell you about the reactions later when I have seen them!

Time to catch up

.
Now that I'm feeling better I have lots of magazines to read, I haven't been able to do that when I was sick. I think I spend a fortune (as you've seen) on magazines every month. That's one thing I miss about the States, they're so cheap there. The following Swedish magazines cost between 8-20 dollars each. I suscribe to some of them, which is a bit cheaper, but still.

I think it would be really fun to work at a magazine, and then my profession would be called art director instead of news designer. My dream is to do that in the USA but it's a bit difficult since my native language isn't English.

Do you read as many magazines as I do? :)

Elle was so thick this month...

I guess this is why!

They do a special cover to subscribers, it's much more "clean" and simple than the ones in stores :)

A Swedish magazine that I bought a couple of days ago that I haven't even opened yet.

This is a magazine for people who are working with graphic design. I totally forgot about it until I found it in my suitcase. I brought it from my other apartment since it's mailed there. This is the one that is so expensive, it costs 20 dollars (about 13 Euros). I don't really like the cover this time though, even though it's a famous designer.

Staring at the ceiling

.
Thank you for your get well wishes. They're starting to help since I feel a bit better now, even though I had to stay at home from work yesterday and today, which I like never ever do usually.

This has been my view the last couple of days;)

I think you've spotted this in a few pictures, a cute diary that I ordered from Yes Style a while ago.

I bought adhesive so that I can hang up posters and pictures on my white walls :)

Questions and answers

.
Okay, so there are lots of questions that you have asked me that I haven't answered - so I should do that now, now now!

Jinni: What magazine are you going to start working at?
I work at the second largest tabloid in Sweden. I'm a news designer at the sports section of the newspaper.

Michelle: What happened with your job?!
As you might remember I had just signed a contract as a reporter at my old job in the north of Sweden when I got offered the job at the tabloid. I went to the boss and explained how it was and he let me go, even though they wanted me to stay. They have told me that I am welcome back in the future, which I really hope too. I see this job in Stockholm as a great experience where I will be able to learn a lot.

Charlotte: What camera do you use?
I use Nikon D7000 and I looove it. I used it at my job as a local reporter and I had to buy one myself since I liked it so much. I bought it in Minnesota, at Best Buy since it was much cheaper there than in Sweden. I have some accessories to it as well, and two lenses (18-105mm and 50 mm). I really recommend it - but only if you know how to take photos with a DSLR. It's worthless to spend that much money on a camera and then only use the auto settings. Before my Nikon I had a Canon Rebel XT. I edit all the pictures in Photoshop.

But in fact, the post that you made the comment in the pictures are taken with my mobile phone :D So are these pictures of the camera:

It's great at capturing movies as well, I just haven't done that so much.
Perhaps I should start video blogging?

Mrs. Kolca: I like Yes Style clothes but I'm not sure of the quality. Is it good? :)
I think it's pretty good, considering that most of the clothes aren't that expensive. I guess you could compare it with clothing lines like H&M or Forever 21. I have ordered from Yes Style four times and I have nothing to complain about.

Konayachi-nyan: I wonder if you customised them all or you just happened to buy those? (about my apartments)
The first one I decided how everything would look, and that is also why I have a super pink wall :D The second one I have only brought my pink things to, I haven't changed the colors of the walls or anything. They are white though, which goes well with pink so I don't mind. The furniture aren't mine either, except the bed. I'm only going to stay here until May or something, so I can't put that much effort in decorating or painting.

Mrs. Kolca: So, which place do you love to stay the most? (also about my apartments)
I like my apartment in the north of Sweden best, since it's cozy and full of memories. It's also always nice to come home to mum, get spoiled with homemade food and cuddle with the pets.

Konayachi-nyan: Do you work hard until that night? (about my working hours)
I work from 6PM until 3AM and I must say that it's pretty rough. After midnight it's really stressful, even though I'm "only" sitting by a computer all night. We have several deadlines and usually there's no time to spare.

Arrow: Woah, you can fit all that into your purse?!?! (about the purse post)
Well, they do fit, but I don't carry all of them every day :)

I know I often say it, and it's worth saying it again: I love your wonderful comments! They are the reason why I am blogging in English! xoxo

Chocolate cake is the best medicine

.
Great, no shopping for me. It feels like I have pneumonia or something, I hope not. So I'm just staying at home, taking it easy. Yesterday I bought a pizza, baked a chocolate cake and watched the Swedish takeouts of Eurovision Song Contest.

On the magazine underneath it says "Loose five kilos in five weeks". I wonder if that diet includes pizza? :)

...and into the oven...

Ta daa! This cake is really popular in Sweden, it's called "sticky cake" since it's sticky inside :)

Inside my purse

.
Woho! Free time. I even woke up early today. I think I'm gonna go and do some shopping. I need new riding clothes.

Here is something that I just bought, also from Yesstyle. It's a new purse/handbag. I don't really like purses in fact. I hardly never used one at my old job. I guess that's because I had my car then and could drive there. In Stockholm I always take the bus and the subway and I can't really carry things in my hands then.

I remember my last visit in the States. I don't even use purses when I go clubbing. Then I had to do it though, since I had to bring my passport. The doorkeeper actually hugged me when he looked into my purse (for security reasons) and saw that I only had one thing in it.

Some of the things: A magazine (if I get bored on the subway), plasters/bandaid (when I have new shoes), snacks (I need a sugar kick when I work) mini hairspray and dry shampoo (when I travel and can't bring my big ones), headband (since I can't wear them under my hat). Cards (like a taxi card so that I don't need to pay for my taxi trips on my way home from work). I don't bring all of these things every day what so ever...

Summertime!

.
I'm back in Stockholm and it almost felt like summer when I arrived since it was -7°C and sunny. Enough about the weather though.

I'm working for four days now and after that I'm off for five days (great schedule). I'm going to continue explore Stockholm then. I think I'm gonna go riding again, and meet some friends. I don't really have time to do anything the days I work since I work from 6PM until 3AM and then I mostly sleep the whole day.

I should start eating on my kitchen table instead of putting things on it ;)

A bracelet from Yesstyle.

It's not my fault that the best tasting flavor is pink!

Reading your sweet comments at 4.00 in the morning :)

Mobile pictures:

I already miss Puzzel. She's almost ten years old but she acts like a puppy.

At the airport, waiting to board. I always buy some kind of snack.

Flying from a bigger airport this time, it was so snowy that you couldn't see the runway. We were a little late to Stockholm since it took such a long time to defrost the plane, that's when they spray liquid (I think it's ethanol) all over the plane so it turns orange, in order for the ice to melt.

Boooring...!

On the train home...

The land of reindeer

.
As you might now I come from a place where there are sami people and they own a lot of reindeer. Most of the time the reindeer are running free in the forest or in the mountains. It's a bit irritating sometimes because they are often on the roads, and you don't want to hit them when you are driving.

Now that I was home I went to see two reindeer. These were surrounded by a fence since they needed some extra food, which they are able to get there.

Honey followed, but she had to stay outside.

Hey, I wanna come too!

It was -35°C this day, which is so cold that my eyes and my hair froze.
I couldn't touch my hair too much since it would brake then.
