Okay, this post is gonna contain a lot of pictures, especially pics of food. I don't really know why, probably because I eat out a lot...I haven't really cooked since I moved to Stockholm. I only go to restaurants and eat, especially when I work. Or...I did noodles once, does that count? :)

Last week Sweden celebrated the national news designer day for the first time ever,

and since I am one, me and my co-workers got cakes from our employer.

...and some days later we got lots and lots of hamburgers. We had a really hectic day since a lot of things are happening with the politics in Sweden, so this was to make us work better, I guess?

What sun? ;) I'm back in Stockholm now and here you're able to see the sun but in the north of Sweden you can't. It's actually getting brighter there right now. November and December are really dark months and then you only have a couple of hours of daylight each day. As you might remember I have also lived in the very far north in Norway, and there it didn't get bright at all in December! It was dark all day and all night.

In a couple of weeks you will be able to spot the sun in all these places. Sometimes people ask me how I'm able to live in the darkness. I'm so used to it so I don't mind. I haven't even thought about it until I moved to the USA and saw the sun in January. I got so confused then, and thought it was spring ha ha.

On the other hand, it doesn't get dark at all in the summers so then we have 24 hours of sunshine every day instead.

Hi there sweethearts. How come I only blog when I'm back home? I got so tired of Stockholm last Friday that I spontaneous booked a flight home in the morning and flew here just a couple of hours later. Since I have a great schedule I'm always off for four or five days after I've been working for four or five days, so I get to stay here for a while.

I've been longing for snow so much, and there haven't been a single snowflake in Stockholm. I've been enjoying my days here in the North skiing and being outside in the fresh, cold air (-24 degrees Celsius).

I guess it's time for an update about my life. I've almost lived in Stockholm for three weeks now. I was lucky enough to get an apartment before I arrived, which is so, so difficult there. Right now I'm not there though. Currently I'm at home in the north of Sweden. Since I work both Christmas and New Year's Eve I wanted to come here before the holidays instead.

My new job is great, but of course it's a bit more difficult since I'm not used to it. I'm also only editing the sports section which I haven't been doing so much before.

So guess what? I'm moving to Stockholm in less than a month! It wasn't easy to quit my job here but I felt that I should take the chance to work at one of the biggest newspapers in this country when I get it. I'll start the new job in December so right now I'm trying to find an apartment. It's funny, I honestly don't like Stockholm and now I'm moving there. It might be different to work there though and I might even start to like it then.

I live at my mum's place for a month...

...since I work as a reporter right now. I've mostly been writing about accidents lately. The roads are so slippery in the north of Sweden right now because the snow is super late.

The last couple of days have been crazy. I was offered a job at one of the biggest newspapers in this country. But. I'm not sure if I will be able to take it. I just signed a contract for my new job for another newspaper, which I will start on Monday. It's up to my boss to decide if they are willing to let me go or not.

It's difficult, because I don't want to let anyone down...so we'll se what will happen.

Right now I'm enjoying the last days in my apartment. No matter what happens I will have to leave this city, even though I will go back to see friends when I'm off.

I signed the papers for my new job today. Instead of being a news designer I'm going to work as a reporter close to my hometown for half a year. Since I will get my own office I decided to buy some cute things to cheer it up!

So I decided to go for a Macbook Air. I know that the Pro is a bit better but I really need a laptop that I can bring on trips as well as using it at home. I've heard that the new Air is improved a lot and that it's really fast too! I ordered the bigger one, size 13". It's supposed to be here next Monday. Right now it's traveling the world. The package has been in places like China, Korea, Kazakhstan and at the moment: Germany.

Did you know that I come from a really small town where there are no shops? Me and my family used to drive for three hours one way to go shopping in the city where I live now. I've been going through this blog deleting old pictures and posts, which there have been houndreds and thousands of. I've been blogging for almost two years now, so maybe that's not so weird. This is how one of my archives look like:

I uploaded a picture of candles and was about to say that I will have a cozy Saturday now when I'm done with "cleaning" my blog. But it's also time to clean my apartment, go grocery shopping and write an article. I don't really see what's cozy about that. I guess that's the backside of having a job like I do. As you might have noticed my blog has been down for a while. I needed some time to think about what I should do with it. It felt like it wasn't representing who I am. I looked like this crazy girl who didn't wear or buy anything as long as it wasn't pink. The header wasn't helping either. I liked it, but I looked like a blown up doll or something ;) So I made a new one. I didn't put so much effort in it but I'll keep it for a while until I have time to make another one.

Of course the whole blog is still pink. Otherwise I would even have to rename it! But I'm going to give you some more of Sandra and a little less of the crazy pink girl, which I hope you're okay with!

I was too tired to go shopping today and apparently I have to work the rest of the week. So I'm gonna do some online shopping from Yesstyle instead. I have bookmarked like 27 things from their shop. Oops! I can't buy them all so now I have to make some tough decisions. I went looking at laptops today as well. I have decided to buy a Macbook Air. The newest one is a lot better than the other versions so I will do well with that one. I used to have two laptops, one mini for traveling and one "big" at home. Now I only need one! I was about to order it but Apple store is down right now.

I want to buy this one if I find it. The money goes to charity, for breast cancer.

I have almost forgotten how yummy tomato soup is. So simple too!

I ordered these boots a couple of days ago. I can't wait for them to get here!

I've noticed that Bloglovin isn't used so much outside of Europe. You should all try it! It's a great way to follow your favorite blogs without having to visit them every day if they don't update so often. I know there are other ways to do this with feeds, but this one is the easiest one I have tried and it's built in a great way. I´d like to know how and when you discovered your desire for pink things :)
I didn't - my friends did. When I was in seventh grade I started to wear a lot of pink clothes and when I was in the ninth grade I had lots of them. I didn't think about it but then my friends said that I must like pink. I didn't like that fact and I decided to never buy any more pink clothes or shoes. It didn't go so well, did it? ;) I've always been a bit of a tomboy and my personality isn't pink.

I´d enjoy a post about your favorite music/bands :)
Right now I don't really have a favorite. I have always loved Kelly Clarkson though, because the lyrics of her songs are awesome and it feels like they're about my life. Other than that I listen to lots of Swedish artists and R'n'B.

Yesterday I said yes to the job as a reporter (local editor), even though I haven't signed anything yet. I'm not sure if I should be happy or not. Or actually I should, since it's so difficult to get jobs in this business. I would rather go to the States but at the same time I have gotten so many great offers in Sweden so I could wait.

Yesterday I went for a lunch with two friends and while I was in downtown I went to a computer store. I'm going to buy a new laptop, a Macbook Air I think. Or should I go for a Pro? I'm not really sure. I will decide and make the order tomorrow!

I also went out for dinner with some friends that I haven't seen for a long time so we had a litte reunion. Today I'm just haning out at home. It's so nice to do "nothing" every now and then.

Hey you guys,

As you might have seen I removed my blogazine - and started a new one but in Swedish. I'm still not sure how to do with any of my blogs, at the moment I have three which is two too much.

The last couple of days I haven't blogged at all. I have only been working and making big decisions about my future. I've had some problems with my college application because the school is saying that it's incomplete and that I haven't sent my high school certificate, which I have. And I don't get an answer about why it's that way. So I'm not sure if I will have time to complete it - especially since I don't even know how. And I don't know if I want to go to that school anymore since they're not even helping me.

At the same time as this happened I got called by a really big newspaper in Sweden that are interested in hiring me as a news designer. And I also got a job offer at the newspaper I am working for right now. Because of that I think I will stay here until next fall.

So now you know how I'm doing, I hope everythings is fine with you!

Dream job versus dream life

I must admit that I sometimes wonder what I'm doing. Here I am, having my dream job, a good salary, great working hours and a cute apartment. And I'm going to leave all of that. Even though I'm having my dream job I'm not having my dream life. That is why I'm moving back to the States. I mailed the college application today and hopefully I will be admitted for the spring semester 2012.

Hey you, I still haven't taken any pictures of my new hair color but I should do it soon (before I go blonde again;). As always I've been very busy so I haven't even had time to blog. It's nice to get a break every now and then too. Lots of things have happend. My grandma died two weeks ago. It's sad but I'm glad that she's not in pain anymore.

I've been to Stockholm to take the TOEFL test. That's an English test so that I can apply to American schools. I'm not sure how it went yet since I wont get the results until next week. Cross your fingers!

Otherwise it's just the usual stuff, work and some parties. I'm also doing a massive clean up in my apartment and I'm throwing away things that I don't need. Not everything though since I will keep my apartment here even if I move to the States.

This week is filled with...work, surprising?

I haven't had time to read so much lately but now I started to read this book.

I'm collecting glasses like these. Every time you go to the gas station to fill gas you get to buy these for like one euro.

I told you about this Swedish blogger, Blondinbella, before. Blogs are huge in Sweden and a lot of people have gotten famous by blogging, like this girl. I would say that she is the most famous blogger in Sweden. She even has her own magazine. Her blog isn't as big as it used to be though. This girl has one of the biggest blogs and she became famous by being mean to people. About 100 000 people read her blog - every day.

The truth is that I would actually have more visitors if I blogged in Swedish, since the blog atmosphere is so big here.

I love magazines, both Swedish and American ones. The top one is Seventeen and the one below is Blondinbella's. It was the first time I read it. It was ok but the bad thing about working as a news designer is that I see every tiny mistake and that annoys me. I do lots of proofreading at work so I know a lot of all the "language rules" there are for Swedish press.

Believe it or not, but I haven't been pink this week, except for today. It's funny how my coworkers notice when I'm not. They always come and search if they see a tiny pink detail somewhere, which they usually do, and then they get satisfied: "well, at least you got a liiittle pink on you".

Just so you know I would never stop blogging because of mean comments, and that wasn't even the reason why I thought about it. There has just been so many things going on lately and the tragedy in Norway has effected me more than I would ever have thought. In one way I'm glad that I have been working a lot the last days so I haven't had time to think about that and everything else all the time.

When I woke up this morning I didn't want to blog anymore. How could I blog about pink things when the world isn't pink? How could I blog about pink things when my world is falling apart? I could blog about other things than cupcakes and bows - but I know that's not what you want to read because those are the posts you don't comment.

I don't blame you. You come here to see my pink pictures and read about my "pink" life as entertainment. And that is also necessary, I know that. Everything doesn't have to be so serious all the time. But sometimes it is, and it's so hard to pretend that I live in a fluffy world - because I don't. My life isn't pink, more than on the outside.

A few hours after my thoughts I saw that some people wrote really mean things about me in an Australian forum. I don't understand that. What's the point? Does it make you look better? Does it make you feel better? There is already so much cruelty in this world, you don't have to make it worse. The next time you're about to write something bad about someone online, please think twice. I'm not trying to harm anyone. I just want to bring some color to people's lives.

There is this famous blogger in Sweden called Blondinbella. She always says that girls have to stand up for each other and not fight, and I couldn't agree more. I am so grateful that there are girls out there who really do that too. During the time I have had this blog I have come across so many amazing people.

I saw some people criticize me about my picture from Norway because it was taken in the water. I would never, ever do anything to upset the people that were in the Norwegian tragedy. I posted that before I knew what really happend on that island and I have taken it away now so there will be no misunderstandings. I can't believe how rude people can be and accuse me of something like that about my homeland.

I haven't told you that I quit my job as a recruitment leader in the beginning of this month. I was working for an au pair agency and I was responsible of recruiting au pairs in the north of Sweden. It took a lot of time, especially since I already was working as a journalist and I was also still in school during the year I worked for them. It was a good experience but I'm glad it's over. Now I'm off for real the days I'm off and I don't have to think about calling au pairs every day.

Tomorrow I start working nights again which is good. That means I can be up for a long time in the night and I love that. Right now I'm about to do a new header. I got so inspired doing it for others so I thought I should do a new one for myself as well. I'm just waiting for my camera battery to charge so that I can take some cool pics.

The good thing about working day though, is that it's not so stressful and you get to be more creative designing the newspaper pages. Just when I was about to go home today there was a murder in the city I live in. That is really unusual here so it's going to be big news about that in the paper tomorrow.

It's so hard to decide what I want to do in the future. Or actually, I have already decided. I am moving back to Minnesota. I just don't know when yet. I'm working at the newspaper as a designer until the 1st of September. I'm a bit afraid that I will be offered a job as a reporter after that. It will be so hard to say no, and at the same time I want to say yes because I just graduated from school and I should work for a while.

The thing is that I have to study when I go back to the States, to get a visa. I'm going to get a bachelor in that case, which will take me at least four years, that is why I should do it soon.

Right now the plan is to work here until spring semester next year, but you'll never know what will happen...

Minnesota is where I belong, I know that.

Working daytime isn't really my thing. I only slept for one hour tonight:/ But I managed to survive the day anyway.

I have eaten up all of my brownies already. I think I have to bake something new, I just don't know what. I really want to try to do chocolate chip cookies, soft ones, since we don't have that in Sweden. I'll do that when I have some more free time.

Oh my, what a day this has been. I went to the mechanics and then straight to work. It was really hectic there. Usually we are done designing half an hour before the deadline but today I sent the last page with only a few minutes left.

It has been worse though. Last summer I had to design a page in ten minutes (usually it takes over an hour) and I was only a few seconds away from missing the deadline but luckily I didn't. It was because the reporter and the photographer gave me the materials too late. If we, for any reason, miss the deadline it's really, really expensive for the newspaper.

I guess I should show you and tell you more about what I really do as a news designer. Not now though, I work daytime tomorrow so I have to go to bed.

Now I have to take my car back to the mechanics...again. I hate it how I have to keep going there once I start. Nothing's really wrong with the car, they just didn't do one thing properly last time I went there so they have to fix it.

I'm also going back to work. I have had three days off but it feels like weeks!

Maybe I should start walking more, in heels, instead of taking the car everywhere ;)

I booked another flight to Stockholm. How many times have I been there lately? I don't remember. Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and sure, it's a nice city, but I don't love it as much as almost everybody else does. I only go there when I have to, which is quite often. This time I'm flying there in the morning and then home at night, in the beginning of August. I'm going to take the TOEFL test and Stockholm is the "closest" city I can do it in.

The last time I was in Stockholm was in the end of May when I came from Minneapolis.

A Swedish girl asked me if I could do her blog design. I was really flattered so I said yes. I love designing so why not.

But what I do regret a bit is that I also said yes to do the whole layout, not only the header. To work with all the codes is a bit boring, especially when it's not even for yourself. So if anyone ask me in the future I'll probably only do the header :)

I almost only work nights as a news designer. It suits me but the bad thing is that it's hard to meet friends. When I'm off during the day they are working and when I go off in the night they are sleeping. Luckily there are some people who like to stay up late. Tonight when I was done with work I had a friend over who tasted my brownies. He liked them. Then I went to him to see the movie Rio. It was so cute, you really should see it. The bird actually lives in Minnesota in the start. It felt like a sign.

I have forgotten to tell you, and show you, that my apartment was in a magazine a couple of weeks ago. A reporter did an interview with me and took pictures of my pink home (I will show you the pages later).

She asked me if there is any occasion when I don't think it's appropriate to wear pink. I answered that I don't do it at funerals and that I also try to not dress up too much when I work as a reporter. If I go to a crime scene or a car accident I think it would look really silly if I have i gigantic bow in my hair or something like that.

But now, when I work as a news designer and stay at the office all the time, I wear whatever I want. If I want to have a Minnie shirt and look like I'm six years old, why not;) As a designer you have to be creative. Black and grey is not creative according to me!

People often get surprised when I say that I like to watch rallycross. I guess that being pink on the outside means a lot of prejudice. In some cases I am a tomboy, and always have been.

I started to love rallycross when I went along with a driver and his family to a race eight years ago. It was so much fun especially since I was behind the scenes as well. He doesn't drive anymore but a big competition was arranged close to me this weekend so I had to go, it was such a long time ago. A friend who's into cars went with me and I had such a great time.

I've been going back and forth to car dealers this week since I have taken both my car and my mum's car for service. Now I really wish I had an Audi. First of all, it was so luxurious to go to the Audi mechanics and best of all, I got a goodiebag for doing it. So funny, I didn't get anything when I went with my Volvo to another place;)

This weekend has been crazy. I worked on Friday night and on Saturday morning I went back to my hometown for a little festival and then I went home again on Sunday to work. Not much sleep with other words and I spent eight hours in the car but I had fun:)

This week I'm also working. I'm back as a news designer again. I'm glad I mostly work nights, that suits me.

I have been inline skating since I was six years old. I don't do it so often these days except when I go to my hometown. The roads there are great to skate on since there's not so much traffic. I went to a town 35 minutes away from here to see my grandma tonight. She has cancer and won't live for so much longer. As you might remember my grandpa died in August. I have spent as much time with them as I have with my dad so it's sad but I'm prepared for it in one way since she is really old.

When I came home I went inlines skating in the light of the midnight sun. My mum took some pictures of me and here is a sneak peak, I'll show you some more later. It's night now and time to go to bed, nighty!

I know I have showed you this before when I made it. I don't really think there's a word for it in English and that's why I just call it "pink porridge". If I translate it directly from Swedish it would be "pat porridge" which really doesn't make sense :D It's not really a meal though, more like a dessert since it's sweet.
